Samue-Lebensstil

"Samu" is daily works of Zen monks. The working costumes Zen monks wore were called samue. It is very functional, easy to wear and it also allows freedom of movement. Now samue is used also as Zen/meditation uniform. Samue is the best uniform for Zen/meditation because it does not constrict your body and is more free than formal robes and kimonos. It is popular among ordinary people also as home wear and street clothes, doing martial arts or qigong.
